Tunji (Chief Tunji) Akinduro is a first generation Nigerian entertainer from Prince George’s county, Maryland. His passion for music was ignited during his childhood while participating in musical theater and singing in the church choir. After graduating from Coppin State University with a bachelor of science degree in sports management, Tunji quickly realized a corporate gig wasn’t for him. He ignored his parents advice to pursue a career in the arts and moved to Los Angeles.
He has been featured in music videos such as Maroon 5’s “Sugar,” which has over two billion views to date, and the newly released Madeintokyo’s “Lose It” that garnered over 100K views within it’s first week of release. Tunji played the reoccurring role “Frank” in Adult Swim’s hit show “Black Jesus”. The lead character “Quadir" in the YouTube series "Journey of A Goddess”. Based on the movie, he was featured in the YouTube series “Friday” as the teenage character of “Big Worm".
He can be seen in the international television commercial and print ad for Vanity Fair Napkins. He can also be seen in a national television commercial spot for Frontier cable.
He has been featured in many hilarious videos with social media influencers such as Melvin Gregg, Woody McClain, and Chantel Jeffries, to name a few.
For over a decade Tunji has hosted and performed stand up comedy on college stages and in well known clubs throughout the Northeast, and Los Angeles.
Parlaying his experience working with Radio One D.C. and Translation Tunji has returned to his first love, music and executive produced his debut album “Year Of Manifestation”.
